US Suspends Arms Deliveries to Estonia Amid Ongoing Iran War
Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur said, during a phone conversation with US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, he was informed that Washington had decided to suspend all arms deliveries to the Baltic country, as reported by a public broadcaster.
Pevkur noted that the primary concern linked to the suspension involves ammunition for HIMARS multiple rocket launcher systems and Javelin anti-tank missiles.
At the same time, uncertainty remains over whether Finland could face similar disruptions. Finland, which shares a long border with Russia longer than any other NATO member, has not yet received confirmation of any comparable suspension.
Finnish Prime Minister Petteri Orpo stated that “this has no impact on Finland's defense capabilities.”
Defense Minister Antti Hakkanen added that Finland does not disclose details regarding its weapons stockpiles or procurement arrangements.
Finland’s Defense Ministry told a public broadcaster that the United States has not officially confirmed whether Finnish weapons contracts will also be affected, though discussions at the official level suggest possible delays in deliveries.
Last year, Finland agreed to purchase missile systems and rocket launchers from the United States, intended for use in various military applications, including integration with fighter aircraft.
